Illinois Marriages, 1790-1860: This database is an index to individuals who were married in Illinois between 1790 and 1860.
Illinois Marriages, 1851-1900: This database is an index to approximately 707,000 individuals who were married in select areas of Illinois between 1851 and 1900.
Illinois Quaker Records: The data includes several vital records for members of these meetings. For those with Quaker ancestors in the Chicago area, this will be a helpful database.
Illinois Servitude and Emancipation Records, 1720-1865: This database is an index of servitude records held by the Illinois State Archives. It contains the names of over 2000 persons who were bought, sold, or emancipated between 1720 and 1865.
Illinois Public Land Purchase Records: The records in this database were transferred to the Illinois State Archives and detail the sale of over 54,000 square miles of public land.
Illinois Maps (See Also Map Information for other States) - County atlases and plat books are at the Illinois State Historical Library. They cover a period of ca. 1870 to 1930 and give details of each township and indicate ownership. Plat books may not be photocopied or loaned. Excellent map collections can also be found at Illinois State Library, Galesburg Public Library, Chicago Historical Society and the map library of the University of Illinois, Champaign-Urbana.
Illinois highway maps are available free through either of the following offices: Illinois Secretary of State, Communications Department, Springfield, Illinois 62756; or Department of Commerce and Community Affairs, 620 East Adams, Springfield, Illinois 62701.

Illinois Historical Aerial Photography 1938-1941 - Statewide aerial photographs were first acquired for Illinois from 1938 through 1941. This collection history gives details about the more than 30,000 photographic paper prints. The original silver nitrate film negatives were destroyed by the National Archives in the 1980s due to deterioration and instability. Use of the paper prints over time has resulted in their becoming faded, worn, defaced, or lost. Access to these print collections is becoming increasingly restricted.
